Questions Frequently Asked About Commissioning a Portrait

Do the portraits come framed?

No, they do not. I don't think it makes sense to pay to ship a big, framed picture (not to mention the risk in shipping glass). Besides, I am usually happiest with my frames when I am able to bring the painting to the frame shop and see how it looks in different types of frames before I choose one. I'm sure you will be, too.

How long will it take to finish my portrait?

This depends on the number of orders that were place ahead of you, and my other artistic commitments. On average, allow 4 to 6 weeks, not including shipping time. During the busy holiday season in December, allow 2 to 3 months. If you need the portrait completed by a specific date, be sure to let me know, and I will do my best to accommodate you. As soon as I receive your order, I will let you know the estimated completion date for your portrait.

How much will shipping cost?

Shipping costs will vary depending on the size and support (on what your portrait is painted) and its destination. This will be discussed during our initial meeting and again before the portrait is shipped.

What shipping method do you use?

Portraits are carefully packed and shipped via Canada Post. Insurance and package tracking are included.  If you would prefer a different shipping method, just let me know.

What if I'm not happy with my portrait?

Because we work together during the initials stages, and you are able to preview the portrait and make any necessary changes before taking delivery of the portrait, it is unlikely that you will not be completely satisfied. However, in the event that you are unhappy with the portrait once you receive it, you may return it, undamaged, within 30 days for a refund of your payment, less deposit and shipping.
